Senegal’s President Faye calls for youth-centered development at AUDA-NEPAD meeting

Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has reiterated his country’s commitment to a sovereign and prosperous Africa, emphasizing the role of youth empowerment in the continent’s future.

Speaking at the 42nd session of the AUDA-NEPAD Steering Committee, Faye stressed the need to align education and skills development with emerging technologies, particularly in digitalization and artificial intelligence.

“The future of the continent depends on well-trained youth: we must adapt our training offer to technological mutations, digitalization, and artificial intelligence,” Faye stated.

He also underscored the importance of self-reliance in Africa’s development, urging nations to prioritize homegrown solutions and regional cooperation over external dependencies.

The AUDA-NEPAD Steering Committee serves as a key platform for shaping policies that drive Africa’s economic and social transformation, with leaders like Faye advocating for sustainable, innovation-driven growth.
