Mayor Malick-Lowe Applauds Nigerian Women’s Day Celebration, Hails Minister Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim’s Leadership

The Mayor of Banjul, Rohey Malick-Lowe, has expressed her admiration and appreciation for the recently held Nigerian Women’s Day celebration, describing it as “one of its kind” and praising the leadership of Hon. Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, Nigeria’s Minister of Women’s Affairs and Social Development.

Taking to social media, Malick-Lowe, who also serves as the President of the Network of Locally Elected Women of Africa (REFELA), shared her experience at the event, emphasizing the impact of the occasion.

“It was a great pleasure to be invited in my capacity as the president of Refela by the Minister of Women’s Affairs and Social Development of The Republic of Nigeria, Hon. Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, to celebrate The Nigerian Women’s Day with them,” she wrote.

The event, she noted, stood out due to its unique format, featuring inspiring speeches and a fashion show by the ministers.

“I was extremely impressed and inspired,” she added.

Mayor Malick-Lowe also commended Minister Suleiman Ibrahim’s commitment to empowering Nigerian women, highlighting the positive feedback she received from attendees.

“My sincere appreciation to my Nigerian sister. Your leadership and contributions towards the women of Nigeria speak volumes, and the testimonies from the dozens of women I spoke to are motivational. Keep it up, my dear sister, you have our back,” she stated.

She concluded by thanking the Minister for what she described as a well-organized and impactful program.
