The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Vista Bank Gambia Ltd., securing D2.5 million annually to support the domestic men’s first-division league competition.
The partnership, signed on December 11, 2024, at Vista Bank’s Head Office on Kairaba Avenue, marks a significant boost for Gambian football. The deal was formalized by GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo and Vista Bank Managing Director Eric Obeng Saah, with senior officials from both organizations in attendance.
President Bajo described the agreement as a milestone in the Federation’s efforts to professionalize the men’s top-flight league ahead of the 2025/26 season. “This partnership will ease some of the financial challenges faced by the Federation and contribute significantly to the growth of the league,” he said. Bajo expressed optimism about the long-term benefits of the collaboration.
Eric Obeng Saah, Managing Director of Vista Bank, commended the partnership, highlighting its history and future potential. He stated that Vista Bank’s goal is to support the GFF in advancing football infrastructure across the country. Saah also praised the GFF’s open-door policy and the strong relationship between the two entities over the years.
The agreement, which renames the league as “The GFF First Division League Vista Bank Baluwo Official Partners,” represents a major step forward for Gambian football. The funding will help elevate the competition’s standards, ensuring sustainability and growth for the league.
The signing ceremony was attended by key officials, including GFF Second Vice President Ebou Faye, Fourth Vice President Sainabou Cham, General Secretary Lamin M. Jassey, and senior representatives from Vista Bank.
