Gambian police investigate two separate alleged murders in Dippa Kunda, Sinchu Madado

The Gambia Police Force has launched investigations into two alleged murders that occurred on January 31, 2025, in separate incidents in Dippa Kunda and Sinchu Madado. Both cases involve close family members as suspects, prompting intensified police scrutiny.

In Dippa Kunda, 18-year-old Fatoumata Bintou Jallow has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of her 21-year-old brother, Abdou Rahman Jallow.

According to the Serekunda Police, the suspect is fully cooperating with investigators and remains in custody as authorities seek to uncover the motive behind the tragic event.

On February 1, Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) visited the crime scene, collecting crucial evidence, including a knife believed to be the murder weapon. The body of the deceased has been transferred to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH), where a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Meanwhile, in Sinchu Madado, 40-year-old Karamo Jobe was allegedly murdered, with his 21-year-old wife, Haddy Boye, emerging as the prime suspect.

The Brikamaba Police swiftly arrested Boye, who remains in custody as investigations continue. CSI officers collected evidence at the scene, including the suspected murder weapon and a knife.

Jobe’s body has been transferred to Bansang Hospital for an autopsy as authorities work to piece together the events leading to the fatal incident.

Both cases remain under active investigation, with police urging the public to remain calm as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths. More details are expected to emerge as forensic analysis and witness statements provide further clarity.
