Banjul: Mayor Malick-Lowe celebrates Fajara Skills Development Centre 25-year legacy

The Mayor of Banjul, Rohey Malick-Lowe, graced the 16th graduation ceremony of the Fajara Skills Development Centre as the guest speaker and “mother of the day,” celebrating a quarter-century of transformative education and skill development.

Expressing her admiration for the institution, Mayor Malick-Lowe remarked, “It was both an honor and a privilege to be invited to the remarkable occasion of the 16th batch of graduates from the Fajara Skills Development Centre as the guest speaker and mother of the day.”

She extended her congratulations to the graduates and lauded Mrs. Jean Able-Thomas, the founder and owner of the Fajara Skills Development Centre, for her visionary leadership. “I want to express my heartfelt congratulations to the graduates, more special to Mrs. Jean Able-Thomas, the visionary founder and owner of Fajara Skills Development Centre, for this extraordinary accomplishment,” she said.

The event also marked a significant milestone as the center celebrated 25 years of empowering individuals, particularly women, through education and skills training. Mayor Malick-Lowe highlighted this achievement, stating, “Twenty-five years of dedication, innovation, and hard work is a significant milestone and a testament to her unwavering commitment to empowering individuals, particularly women, through education and skill development.”

Acknowledging the institution’s impact, she added, “Mrs. Jean Able-Thomas, you have not only created a center of learning but a beacon of hope and opportunity for countless individuals who have walked through the doors of this institution.”

The mayor also praised Mrs. Able-Thomas for her inspiring leadership and dedication to equipping young people with essential tools for success. “Your leadership has inspired many, and your unwavering passion for equipping young people with the tools to succeed in life has touched the lives of so many families and communities in The Gambia and beyond,” she concluded.
