The Gambia Police Force has launched an investigation into an alleged armed robbery at ElHella shop on Hegan Street, Banjul. The incident occurred around 9:08 AM, with two suspects making away with significant cash sums.
According to preliminary reports, the suspects arrived in an ash-colored BMW without a number plate. CCTV footage captured one suspect wearing a face mask while the other remained unmasked. They stormed the shop, brandished a pistol, and threatened those inside before fleeing with D1,245,000.00 and 1,650,000.00 CFA.
The suspects escaped in the same unregistered vehicle, and police are urging the public to assist in their identification. Anyone with useful information is encouraged to report to the nearest police station or call 9968885.
Authorities assure that further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
